About The Vineyard

Paladin Family boasts a 50-years old history in the Venetian viticulture. Thanks to this experience, they started the production of Chianti Classico under the Vèscine label and the direction of a charming 4-stars relais Borgo di Vèscine.

Passion, research, dedication and respect for traditions: these are the main values pursued by Paladin Family since the company’s foundation in 1962 by Valentino who followed his grandfather’s marks. Carlo, Lucia and Roberto brought energies and enthusiasm with the aim of producing excellent, typical wines while respecting the family traditions.

Paladin vineyards, which look like beautiful gardens, are immersed in the harmonious rural landscape recalling ancient traditions and cultures.

The estate extends between Eastern Veneto and Friuli with almost 100 hectares of green vineyards. This is a territory in which viticulture and enology enjoy an ancient and renowned tradition.

In this area the love for wine and viticulture date back at least to the Roman age: in the first century a.d. Plinio used to describe this rich area as a wide vineyard and used to describe the ships which, full of wine amphoras, sailed from the Adriatic ports to Rome. Centuries later, the Republic of Venice used to import the “noble drink”, object of trade exchanges all over its dominion.

Finds testifying the ancient production of wine in this territory were found in our vineyards in Lison.

The Bosco del Merlo estate winery is the pride and joy of siblings Carlo, Lucia and Roberto Paladin; it is the result of their continuous and evolving commitment, and an expression of their love and passion for the earth and its fruits. They produce wine that is typical of the area; bringing together tradition, culture and courage; using the most advanced technology, fully respecting the ethical issues and environment in which they operate, in order to offer quality without compromise and maximum satisfaction for their customers and fans. 

Bosco del Merlo is an eco-compatible estate and winery which, faced with a constantly changing environment, endeavours to improve its performance every day. Projects to protect Bosco del Merlo customers and the environment are combined under the auspices of the Reasoned Viticulture label. To practice "Reasoned Viticulture" is to put the Vineyard System at the centre of quality and production logistics. The vineyard should be considered as a defined ecosystem, whose equilibrium must be perfectly maintained in order to become the basis for producing Sustainable Quality, strongly linked to the area. 



About The Vineyard

Premiata Fattoria di Castelvecchi in Chianti is located in the heart of Chianti Classico in a magnificent hamlet dating back to XI century and it’s a fascinating winery.

The wines are made from vineyards at 600 meters of altitude in the most prestigious and historical area of Chianti. Here you are in the cradle of Chianti Classico (symbolized by the Gallo Nero - the black rooster), the most valuable and precious area for the production of all Chianti.

The history of a millennium

Premiata Fattoria di Castelvecchi vineyards are located at a height between 500 and 600 metres above sea level. Pruning, bunch thinning and harvest are carried out by hand with respect for grapes, vineyards and nature.

The cellar is located in Castelvecchi, defensive village dating back to 11th century, one of the most beautiful places in the Chianti Classico area. Green vineyards and old oak woods echo the history of a millennium. This is a magical place, which has hosted hundreds of harvests and which today welcomes the wine lovers for a unique and unforgettable cellar tour.

The Sangiovese vines has been naturally selected in a millennium, since the low Middle Age, propagating only the best plants: the most resistant and the most suited to produce long lasting full bodied wines. In October the grapes are harvested by hand, as the hills are very steep. The quality of the grapes is assured also by the strong day/night thermic excursion and by a soil so draining.

We try to capture the magic and charm of the location in our wines: Capotondo Chianti Classico, Lodolaio Chianti Classico Riserva and Madonnino della Pieve Chianti Classico Gran Selezione.

Castello Bonomi

A Story to tell

Castello Bonomi, the only Château in the Franciacorta area, lies in Coccaglio, at 275 meters above sea level, on Monte Orfano slopes. The estate stretches over 24 hectares; the terraced vineyards are surrounded by a wood and an old park, in a land dotted with villages and ancient palaces, rich of charm and history.

The diligent work of Luigi Bersini, Chef de Cave, of Prof. Leonardo Valenti, university teacher of Viticulture and Enology in Milan, and of Giovanni Berti, Brand Manager, is carrying on and renewing the commitment and project of Bonomi family, which began in 1915.

The wines, thanks to the soil, rich in limestone and rocky substrata, the southern exposure and the microclimate, get some unique organoleptic characteristics which make them particularly well-structured, rich and complex. 

The important and prestigious awards show the excellence of Castello Bonomi, historical winery of Franciacorta. Cruperdu, Rosè and Lucrezia Etichetta Nera confirm a quality that characterizes our estate since long time, placing our products among the best Franciacorta Sparkling Wines of all time.
